This dulcimer features a bookmatched Catalpa top, which produces a very warm resonant tone. Catalpa is rare and hard to find so you don't see it used very often. The body, fretboard and scroll are Walnut with the back and sides also bookmatched. The scale length is 26" with 18 nickel silver frets including a 1½, 6½, 8½ and 13½ frets for a full two octave range on each string. The Grover Sta-Tite tuners have a 14:1 gear ratio and lifetime manufacturer's warranty. The inlays are Abalone and the nut and bridge are Ebony. Matching strap buttons are already installed and it is setup to use either loop or ball end strings. The action is low for ease of playing. It is equipped with an internal piezo pickup for connection to an amplifier, sound effects pedals or sound system using a standard 1/4" guitar cord.
