Barbara Allen™ Models

Barbara Allen™ dulcimers are similar to the traditional teardrop shape, but the widest part of the dulcimer is closer to the middle instead of the bottom. This allows the dulcimer to have more internal space and therefore, more volume and a richer tone. It is also easier to hold and play, since the center of gravity is in the middle. A Barbara Allen™ model can be made with any combination of wood, soundholes and scale length. Please see the pricing for custom dulcimers below.

16 nickel silver frets including a 6½ and 13½ fret (additional frets added at no additional cost)

Grover Sta-Tite tuning gears with 14:1 ratio and lifetime manufacturer's warranty
100% solid wood construction - hand selected American tonewoods with no veneers or plastic parts
Scroll style headstock
Nut and bridge slotted for traditional and equidistant string spacing (on 4-string models)
